From the discovery phone call a few months ago about to learn more about his product, to the interactions leading up to our arrival, and the arrival itself was just top notch. The vehicle is so cool and great for a family of four with two smaller kids. If you have four adult people I would recommend two cars. Now when it comes to the experience, beach chairs are included which is a great touch and John will concierge you via text around the island so you see multiple viewpoints and incredible beaches. He even sent us to a great place called The shack at Hull Bay which I would highly recommend for lunch or dinner before going back to the ship! I cannot say enough great things about John and the experience he provides! I would definitely do this again and would recommend anyone looking to go to St. Thomas to do this experience at least once whether you're on a cruise or staying there for a few nights! We got to experience the island in a different way then most of the passengers did. You take the buggy to all different places. You stay as long as you want at each location. They will send you a text of each location to go to, you put it in to the GPS and go. If you get hungry just text me are getting hungry and they will send you a place to eat. Or if you want to shop they will do the same. Love the concept and how it's done. We highly recommend them also, They are very close to the port. We booked Island Buggy Excursions as a last minute option when we visited St. Thomas on our cruise. We saw the buggies from our balcony and decided to investigate. We were greeted by John, the owner, given the information and decided to book immediately. The short explanation is that we get to drive their buggy and tour the island, at our leisure, while being guided by John and his staff via text. So WE get to decide how long we stay at each location and can make detours along the way. He even included beach chairs and snorkel gear so we didn’t have to rent. I won’t give away all the fun places he sent us…but we went to a beach where we saw a sea turtle in the wild, ate the most delicious food at the coolest local place and were able to take the most amazing pictures from the top of a mountain. His staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help when we asked for recommendations of places that were important to OUR memories. This is your only option for a truly local island experience and high on my list of favorite excursions ever taken. Like the other reviews here we feel like this is just a fabulous excursion for a small group who wants to see as much of St. Thomas as possible. John was just great - texted me multiple times before the day of the excursion and walked us through finding him the morning our ship docked. The GPS and texting worked flawlessly. When we disembarked at St. Thomas we met Liston from Island Buggy Excursions at the port. Decided to rent a buggy for the day. Liston walked us to the onsite office where we met John, the owner. He set us up with everything and explained the process - we use maps on our phone and they have GPS on the buggy. He gave us the name of the first place we were to go to, and then when we get there he’ll send us the next location. Stops will vary based on how long we stay at each location and what types of activities we liked. We wanted beach, bars, shopping and lunch. John set us up perfectly.Beautiful spots for views of the island, great off-track lunch spot by the ocean with incredible fish tacos (the Shack at Hull Bay), perfect souvenir and daiquiri stop, multiple beaches and a really cool bar in town near the port (The Lost Turtle) when we had a little more time before getting back to the boat - and John even stopped it to say hello. Liston and John were great - communicated via texts all day to make sure we were good and give next location. It was an awesome way to see the island without being locked into a guided tour with preset stops and times. This was definitely a highlight of our trip - a perfect day in St. Thomas! John kept an eye on us since the buggy has GPS. He advised us where to go and when. Basically, you get a personalized tour of the island without having the host with you. You also get to drive a really fun car. Communication with the host is mostly by text so having a phone is important. We saw many tour buses full of people going to the "standard" spots all together in a crowded mess. John guided us around to avoid the crowds and see more of the island since we could hop around and not have to stand in line. Best ever. Will recommend to all my friends. I don’t usually write reviews, but I want everyone to know just how great the experience was. The staff was very communicative, cars were in great shape, responded fast and the sites we saw were amazing. If you were charged for everything we saw by bus or a separate excursions, it would have cost thousands. We saw several lookouts, beaches, resorts and had the best food on the island. We always felt taken care of and it’s because of this that I’m coming back for a full vacation. It was amazing seeing pretty much the entire island and being allowed to sit for however long or short you want to. Seriously, this is the best way to see the island!!!!
